Local Attractions

If you're looking to undertake some retail therapy Milton Keynes has one of the best shopping centres anywhere in the south. Or if you're looking to bag yourself a designer bargain why not try Bicester Village where you'll find over 130 designer boutiques offering massive discounts on normal high street prices?

Furtho's a great weekend location if you're going to a sporting event in the area. Within just a few minutes' drive you could be watching football at MK Dons, rugby at 2011 European runners up Northampton Saints, horse racing at nearby Towcester, eventing at Hanslope, the Moto GP or British Grand Prix at Silverstone, drag racing at Santa Pod or any of the other nearby sporting locations

Looking for attractions that the kids will love? The local area has an embarrassment of riches for you to visit including the world famous Woburn Abbey and Safari Park and London Zoo's sister park, Whipsnade Zoo. With their wonderful mix of rides, attractions, beautiful countryside and wildlife, Wicksteed Park or Gullivers Land are both great places to take the kids. And if the wonderful British weather gets in the way of your plans there's also loads of indoor places the kids will love including the Sno!zone indoor ski slope, ice skating at Planet Ice or ten-pin bowling

If you're spending time without the kids and looking for more 'grown up' attractions, world-famous venues such as Bletchley Park, Althorp House (ancestral home of the family of Princess Diana) and National Trust Properties including the stunning Stowe Landscape Gardens and the beautiful renaissance-style chateau at Waddesdon Manor are all close by and well worth a visit.

Less than 15 minutes away and located at the heart of Milton Keynes, the Theatre District is well known as the place to eat, drink and have fun. It offers a fantastic and varied selection of restaurants, al fresco dining, unique daytime and evening events throughout the year and a vibrant party atmosphere into the early hours.

We're also ideally-located if you're visiting Northampton's famous Royal and Derngate theatre, the area's main venue for arts and entertainment. It offers two auditoria and presents a diverse programme of work with everything from drama to dance, stand-up comedy to classical music, children's shows to opera on its stages. Some of the biggest names and shows on tour can be found here, alongside a programme of widely acclaimed in-house produced work.

And, if you're the outdoor type, the beautiful surrounding countryside offer ample places for walking including the Forestry Commission's Salcey Forest and the Grand Union Canal. If you love cycling then using the MK redways network is safe and fun for all ages. Fishing can be enjoyed either on the Grand Union canal, the local river or even on our own lake (restrictions may apply).
